Kindergarten Day One

Calling today the first real day of kindergarten.  And it was pretty much what we've been doing over the summer and it only took about 45 minutes. I put some of their markers, notebook, and a surprise snack in their backpacks and told them to "walk to school" (around the back to the front door).  They loved that!  Did Bible reading, math flashcards, reviewed all the sounds of the alphabet, and then they got their surprise snack (fruit by the foot) while I read to them from their chapter book (magic tree house: dinosaurs before Dawn), 2 chapters. It was a little challenging with Oliver crying and needing things but I kept it together and it was successful.  At the end, they colored and cut some paper for fun, then each got to put a sticker on the Challenge Prize Chart (after a certain amount of stickers they'll get a prize).  Good day today.  Chicken pot pie for dinner.  I'm realizing I do much better when I have at least some semblance of a plan for the day; I
